A court ruling is keeping McAlester's ambulance service up and running. An administrative judge ordered the company to shut down for 30 days because it violated state standards of care. But a district judge issued a stay so the owner can appeal.

The Oklahoma Health Department says Para Med dispatched ambulances on 9 dates without a paramedic required by its license.
