SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) _ Spanish singer Julio Iglesias misses doing big tours of Latin America, but he said that hasn't stopped his records from being No. 1 in the region.
``Not touring Latin countries is because I've been in other places,'' Iglesias told reporters Sunday at his beach-side mansion in Punta Cana, 125 miles east of Santo Domingo.
``I've sung from Moscow to southern Greece and after that all of the United States,'' he said. Iglesias hasn't done a big tour of Latin America in decades.
After proclaiming himself ``the biggest Latino artist in the last 50 years,'' Iglesias said that albums ``Tango,'' ``La Carretera,'' ``Noche de Cuatro Lunas'' and his most-recent ``Divorcio'' enjoy the same support in Latin countries as his previous ones.
``I sing for nothing more than that my fans love me more. I don't sing for money,'' the 60-year-old Iglesias said. ``I love it when my fans see me in the street and they hug and kiss me.''
