An unruly visitor showed up near the Gilcrease Museum this weekend, and had to be lassoed and escorted away after a high-speed chase that lasted a few hours.
Animal control officers and four Tulsa Police officers wore themselves out, chasing a runaway emu. They cornered the large bird briefly, but it got away. They did eventually catch the bird and were able to subdue it long enough to get it in the truck.
Rescuers say they don't know where the bird came from.
