What some see as possible tug of war over the Boeing tax - really is one sided contest in favor of the law.

Boeing announced Tuesday the company would not build the 7E7 assembly plant in Tulsa. That was enough to stop a voter approved sales tax from ever taking effect.

Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune: "The Boeing tax approved by the voters, 4 tenths of 1 cent, will not be activated." The Vision ballot that voters approved required that Boeing agree to build the new assembly plant here - in order for the tax to be collected.

The remainder of the Vision tax goes into effect January 1st.
