Investigators are still trying to determine how an 8-month-old baby burned to death, after crawling onto a floor furnace grate.

Tulsa Firefighters say Christian Martin came into contact with a floor furnace at this home in the 1900 block of South Indianapolis. The infant was found dead shortly before six Sunday night.

Tulsa Fire Captain Hubert Rouse says with winter weather here, it's important to make sure your home's heating system is in working order. "This time of year when it gets cold, people begin to use floor furnaces, wall furnaces, fire places, whatever that may be, we begin to talk about these things, that you need to be cautious about those things.â€

Authorities say the child's parents were asleep when he was burned. They were not hurt.

Investigators say evidence shows the child's death was accidental.
