(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Two candidates have filed Monday to fill a seat in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Republicans Pam Peterson and Greg Meier filed for the District 67 seat left open when Republican Representative Hopper Smith of Tulsa resigned last month. Smith is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard and commands one of three battalions being sent to Afghanistan to help train the Afghan Army.
The three-day filing period ends Wednesday afternoon at 5.
A primary election is scheduled for January 13th and the general election will be February 24th.
