Some angry Tulsans want to know who pulled the plug on their Internet service. About a week ago, customers of OnRamp Internet Service or GeoTec as it was formerly known, discovered they couldn't log on.
The News On 6 checked it out. OnRamp's Tulsa office looks vacated, and a sign in the window blames a computer virus for the service fall-out. OnRamp's phone plays a recording declaring all is well, but customers report otherwise.
Beverly McIntosh is tangled up in the web service mess because she pre-paid her account. "Full year and I just paid this last September, so I got all this time coming to me, so I'm very upset over it."
The Better Business Bureau says it’s investigating. Customers we talk to say they'll avoid pre-paying for Internet service in the future.
