A Jenks man is enjoying a new lease on life thanks to the quick action of two friends.
Bill Twilley [pictured] had a heart attack at a restaurant last April. Darren Kelsey and Curtis Conway jumped into action and gave Twilley, CPR until paramedics arrived.
Tuesday at its holiday luncheon, Citizen CPR gave Twilley its "Survivor of the Year" award. Kelsey and Conway were honored as "Heroes of the Year." Leaha Kopp, Citizen CPR Executive Director: “They did a great job. They responded quickly. They had someone call 911 and of course they were a textbook example. They did a great job.â€
Earlier this year, EMSA recognized the two men as heroes, for taking the training and putting it to use. Citizen CPR says it's also important for all of us to learn the warning signs of heart attacks and to know how to perform CPR.
