(Noble-AP) -- A $1.7-million grant has been approved for senior housing in Noble.

The project approved Monday was denied last year by federal authorities.

The Housing and Urban Development grant will fund 30 apartments for senior citizens in Noble.

There's a waiting list for the 26 homes in Noble's Senior Citizens Village.

The Noble Senior Citizens Housing Authority and Senior Citizens of Noble filed for the grant nearly two years ago.

Enid won the HUD money for senior housing last year.
