Some area moms and dads headed back to class Thursday. It was all part of National Parent Involvement Day at Hamilton Middle School in Tulsa.
Parents say when they know what's going on in the classroom; it makes it easier to help with their child's education and development at home.
Adrion Thompson's son is 13. He says when he and his wife get involved; it’s not only their son's grades that improve. "His attitude about school gets better. He shows a lot of interest in school. And, that's one of the things we lack even in our students these days, is the lack of interest in school."
Parents say days like Thursday also help them forge important relationships with teachers.
