Good news for Tulsa's future in the convention and tourism business.
Suzanne Stewart with the Tulsa Metro Chamber: "It's my honor to announce that Tulsa has been selected to host the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 2008 conference."
Recognizing Tulsa's preservation efforts through community revitalization and enrichment projects, the Trust chose Tulsa over San Antonio and Austin. City officials say the conference will be a great opportunity for Tulsa to showcase its assets to a national audience.
Jay Clemens with the Tulsa Metro Chamber: "Every time a visitor comes to our city and has a good experience here it sends a message, a very strong message to the country."
The conference is expected to generate $1.5-million for the local economy.
