(McAlester-AP) -- A third Democrat is considering running for Congress in the Second District.
Former state Representative Lloyd Fields of Arpelar says he's checking out support in the district and expects to decide after Thanksgiving whether to run.
State Representative Dan Boren and former District Attorney Kalyn Free have said they intend to run for the seat currently held by Congressman Brad Carson. Carson has announced plans to run for the US Senate.
Fields represented District 18 in the state House from 1992 to 2000 when he ran unsuccessfully for Labor Commissioner. He also ran unsuccessfully for the state Senate following the resignation of former Senator Gene Stipe.
