STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Tony Allen scored 15 points and Oklahoma State held off a late-game rally to beat Athletes First 90-82 in exhibition play Wednesday.
Allen grabbed five rebounds and Ivan McFarlin and John Lucas each had 14 points for the No. 24 Cowboys (1-0).
McFarlin also had seven rebounds and three assists and Lucas had six rebounds and five assists.
Oklahoma State led by as much as 20 points, 83-63, after going on a 22-8 spree in the second half.
Athletes First (1-6) got 19 points in the final three minutes of the game _ 14 from Joe Adkins _ to narrow the lead but it wasn't enough.
OSU trailed 40-36 at the end of the first half, even though the Cowboys shot 40 percent from the field to Athletes First's 38 percent.
Oklahoma State stepped it up in the second half, shooting 58 percent to the Athlete's 37.5 percent.
Adkins led all scorers with 33 points and had three assists for Athletes First. John Woods added another 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.
