Union Public School students will continue cheering for their controversial mascot.
The Union school board has voted unanimously to keep the "Redskins" mascot. The mascot has come under fire by Native American groups who believe the name is offensive.
Members from the Indian Coalition Against Racism say they're disappointed but will not give up their fight. Louis Gray with the Tulsa Indian Coalition Against Racism: "we had made up our mind no matter what, we would be respectful, take our medicine, and come back later with a new plan."
The group is working to get other school districts in Oklahoma to change their Native American mascots.
