(Sedan-AP) -- A 3-year-old boy who apparently wandered off from a farm near Sedan, Kansas, has been found dead.

Authorities say the child drowned in a creek on his family's property.

The only clues searchers had were his shoes and socks. Two creeks run through the farm where the boy lived with his parents and grandparents.

Hundreds of searchers combed rural Chautauqua County Wednesday and Thursday to look for the boy. He was reported missing at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
