(Miami-AP) -- Officials in Miami have filled the vacant public utilities superintendent's job.
Jim Weaver will fill the position that's been open since May. Weaver begins work on November 17th after moving from Pennsylvania.
Weaver replaces Rex Garrett, who resigned to pursue a career in engineering.
Weaver will earn $75,000 as the head of Miami's utilities department.
Weaver began his career in utilities as a laborer for Indiana and Michigan Electric Company, a subsidiary of American Electric Power Company. He eventually became a system operations supervising electrical operations in the two states.
