(McAlester-AP) -- A Florida man is accused of damaging the Pittsburg County Jail and threatening a guard.

Lloyd Kris Norman of Lake City, Florida, is charged with felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and injury to a public building.

Officials say Norman ripped a security camera from the wall of the county jail's observation room and broke lights and fixtures.

He also allegedly threatened jailer Larry Burgess with a broken light bulb.

Norman had been jailed since August on burglary charges. A judge has ordered a competency hearing to determine if he is competent to stand trial on those charges.
