(Sallisaw-AP) -- Plans to open Sequoyah County's new jail have suffered another setback.
The $4-million jail was supposed to open this week. That's before state inspectors pointed out that the jail didn't have a computerized booking system.
In spite of the latest problem, jail planners believe they can still start moving prisoners into the new lockup as early as next week.
The facility has experienced years of delays and $800,000 in cost overruns.
Sequoyah County voters first approved a half-cent sales tax to fund the jail in January 2000. The lockup initially was supposed to cost about $3.2-million and be finished in late 2001.
