University of Oklahoma President David Boren says he wants the school's regents to approve a one-time salary supplement of $500 to OU workers.

It will cost more than a million dollars. Boren says the money will recognize the contributions of faculty and staff during a period of budget cuts and no salary increases.

The money comes from improvements in state revenue. The OU Regents will consider the request next week in Tulsa.
