(Seattle-AP) -- Aerospace industry analysts say an announcement by Boeing may mean Tulsa has a better shot at getting a jet assembly plant than previously thought.

Boeing says it will fly major parts for the proposed 7-E-7 jet to the assembly site, rather than ship the parts by rail, barge and truck. The company is to select a plant site later this year and its board of directors is to decide next year whether to formally commit to building the jet.

Oklahoma is one of several states in the running for the plant with local and state officials offering incentives for Boeing to build it in the Tulsa area.
