(Hartshorne-AP) -- An Oklahoma City man and woman are hospitalized after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a mule in eastern Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Gebhart Parzer and Karen Wilson were injured when they were thrown from the motorcycle in the accident on State Highway One near Hartshorne.

Parzer is hospitalized in Fort Smith, Arkansas, while Wilson is in a Tulsa hospital. Both are reported to be in stable condition with head injuries.

Troopers say the mule was standing in the roadway. There is no word on the animal's condition.
