Blue Ribbon Downs may get a break in its effort to comply with the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission.

The Sallisaw racetrack can avoid suspension of its license by leasing employees from Florida, rather than keeping its own. Racing officials have approved a plan to hire a company out of West Palm Beach, which will lease track employees to Blue Ribbon, and provide workers' compensation insurance.

The Commission discovered in August that the track had operated for months without coverage for its workers.
