Students across the US gathered around school flagpoles Wednesday morning for the annual "See you at the Pole" tradition.
For the past 13 years, millions of young people gather before classes starts to pray for their school and the nation. News on 6 reporter Patrina Adger says students call it, "A National Day of Student Prayer."
More than 2 million teenagers nationwide gathered around their school flagpoles Wednesday morning to proclaim their faith to God and pray for our country. More than 50 students from Nathan Hale High School at 6960 East 21st, gathered around the pole to sing spiritual songs and pray for their school and the country.
The 13-year tradition has united many students, teachers, and administrators to share their message of love and faith in Jesus. Sophomore Nikki Hamilton, "how often do you get to worship God at school? I mean you're afraid to. 'Oh what are they gonna think. Oh, you're a loser.' It's just awesome to come out here and worship God and be one with all the other Christians here."
Donna Dye, Rangers For Christ, "it's a time of encouragement and it's a time to back this country up for what we believe."
