(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Muskogee elementary school teacher Cindy Ball is the Oklahoma Teacher of the Year for 2004.
Ball is a 4th-grade teacher at Sadler Arts Academy in Muskogee.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning by state school Superintendent Sandy Garrett during a ceremony at the Oklahoma State Fair
Ball will now represent the state in the national teacher of the year competition. She also receives several cash gifts, the use of a new car for a year and a one-year gasoline credit card among other gifts.
Ball was chosen from 12 finalists who each receive gifts including cash awards and a gas credit.
Ball was the Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence Elementary Teacher of the Year and the National Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year last year.
