(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State University officials are promising a parity plan following complaints about the salary paid to the wife of an OSU vice president.
Deborah Wiggins is being paid $38,000 as an adjunct professor in the history department, about the same as some tenured and tenure-track faculty.
Those faculty members were given raises to about $40,000, leading to complaints from others.
OSU Provost Marlene Strathe says she's looking into the issue and intends to develop a parity plan.
University President David Schmidly says Deborah Wiggins was hired through a practice known as ``spousal accommodation'' to attract her husband, Gary Wiggins, to a key position at OSU.
