(Bismark, North Dakota-AP) -- An Ada woman has been crowned as the new Miss Indian Nations.
21-year-old Cody Harjo, a member of the Seminole Nation, received the title over the weekend during the 34th annual United Tribes International Powwow.
She is the twelfth person to wear the crown.
Harjo is attending Dartmouth and is planning to get a master's degree in education or go to film school.
She got a 2-thousand dollar scholarship for winning the competition.
Harjo was among eight women between the ages of 17-to-26 vying for the crown.
Contestants are judged on such things as communication skills, personal conduct and traditional skills.
