(Norman-AP) -- Last year Oklahoma quarterback Jason White blew out his knee while running in the open field in a game against Alabama.
The injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. He had shredded the right ACL and MCL in his right knee.
And on Saturday the Sooners play Alabama again.
White says he doesn't think about the injury much anymore, but coaches, teammates and fans were all curious to see how White could handle his return to the gridiron last week.
White threw three touchdown passes and completed 23 of 35 passes for 248 yards in a 37-to-3 win against North Texas.
But it wasn't until his first smack on the knee from an opposing defender that White and the Sooners were certain that he'd be OK.
The injuries have sapped some of his quickness, forcing him to become a more studious, methodical quarterback.
