(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A congressional meeting at the state Capitol today will focus on a potential natural gas crisis linked to high prices and low inventories.
Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma will host the meeting of a congressional task force appointed by Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois.
Cole press secretary Julie Bley says members of the task force want to put forth a plan on how escalating gas prices can be curbed so people won't have outrageous heating bills this winter.
Cole is scheduled to be joined by Representatives Joe Barton of Texas, John Shimkus of Illinois and Brad Carson of Oklahoma.
Corporation Commission Chairwoman Denise Bode and Oklahoma Secretary of Energy Robert Sullivan are scheduled to testify about how natural gas prices affect Oklahomans.
