(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A 47-year-old Okmulgee man has been diagnosed with the West Nile virus.

The patient is the third person to be diagnosed in the state this year. The other cases are a 70-year-old Turpin man and a 29-year-old Tulsa man. No one has died.

Health Department officials say Oklahoma also has confirmed cases of West Nile in horses and birds in 21 counties in all quadrants of the state.

Of 221 dead birds tested at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, 73 tested positive.

Tulsa County has 42 cases among 96 dead birds tested and Oklahoma County has 11 positive cases in 37 birds tested.

There are two confirmed cases of the virus in dead birds in Canadian County and one in Cleveland County.
