Thousands of Green Country students headed back to class Thursday. The first bell rang Thursday morning at schools in Jenks, Union, Bixby and Broken Arrow.

In most districts budget cuts have caused apparent changes. Broken Arrow students will notice a reduction in certain services, a slight increase in class sizes and fewer bus stop pick-ups.

But Broken Arrow Superintendent Dr Jim Sisney says despite the challenges he anticipates a great year ahead. "Once the lights are turned on and the pitches are thrown everyone steps up to the plate very well in education. And really the complaining stops and everyone focuses on the children.”

Tulsa Public School students still have time off. They don't go back until September 2nd.
