An author with 16 best-selling books is trying his hand at a new type of writing. TD Jakes usually writes inspirational nonfiction, but now heâ€™s put out a novel.

Jakes signed copies of his new book Wednesday at the Borders Bookstore on 21st Street. "Cover Girls" is about four women who learn to balance their lives with their religious beliefs.

In addition to writing, Jakes pastors a multi-racial nondenominational church in Dallas, aimed at helping the homeless, drug addicts, and prostitutes turn their lives around.
