(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa's defense will have a new look this year.
First-year head coach Steve Kragthorpe has turned the defense over to new coordinator Bob Graham. Graham was lured away from West Virginia, which finished 32nd in the country in defense last season.
Graham favors a 3-3-5 alignment that includes three defensive linemen, three linebackers and five defensive backs.
The new look could cause confusion for more-talented opponents. It helps that Tulsa's secondary is one of the team's few strengths.
Kragthorpe says the defensive lineup presents a lot of different problems for the offense. He says it also fits the Golden Hurricane's personnel because it's hard to find four quality defensive linemen.
