The inclement weather forced cancellations and delays of events each day of the three-day festival, including the cancellation of yesterday's mass ascension of balloons at dawn.

The festival raised about 25-thousand dollars for the nonprofit Gatesway Foundation, down from the usual 50-thousand dollars. Gatesway officials say other fund-raisers will be held to make up the difference.

Gatesway provides homes and job training for nearly 500 people with developmental disabilities.
