(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Last week's explosion and fire at a Ponca City oil refinery may the cause of this week's increase in gas prices in Oklahoma.
Gas prices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa are up by 2 cents per gallon since the day before last Monday's explosion at the ConocoPhillips refinery. The average price in both cities is almost $1.43 per gallon.
The statewide average is nearly $1.44 per gallon, a 1 cent increase since before the fire.
Houston-based ConocoPhillips says output at the refinery is down 38%, from about 3.7-million gallons a day to less than 1.5-million gallons a day.
Company officials say they expect production to return to full capacity by the end of September.
