Tulsans are being asked to gather this weekend to pray for unity in the city. United Pastors for Community held a news conference Tuesday morning to announce a citywide prayer event.
It's organized in response to the recent rash of homicides and gun violence in Tulsa and also to pray for those coping with joblessness and other challenges. The group encourages all citizens to take part.
Pastor Milford Carter with the Sanctuary Evangelistic Church, "From big business, from corporate America, from the city council to the Mayor's office, from everybody in between -- the least to the greatest. The show of unity is what will get the response.â€
The United Pastors for Community Prayer event is this Saturday at 7 PM at the Booker T Washington High School Stadium.
