Okmulgee is losing one of its employers. Dollar Thrifty announced Wednesday it will close its reservations center there in September.

It opened back in 1998. The company says it will offer its 80 employees alternate job opportunities at its Tulsa or Tahlequah reservations centers.

The company says its not closing the center because of the economy, but because more and more people are making reservations over the Internet so the center is not needed.
