Oklahomans are bracing for the extreme heat expected across the state this week.

The Tulsa Heat Coalition is getting its "heat emergency plan" ready for action. Either EMSA or the National Weather Service activates it by declaring a Heat Alert or Advisory. If it goes into a 5th day, the coalition will open "cool stations" - where folks can go to beat the heat.

Here are things you can do to be careful in the heat. Experts recommend you reduce your outdoor activity. Avoid exercise during the heat of the day. Drink at least "eight" 10-ounce glasses of water a day. And wear lightweight clothing.
