(Choctaw-AP) -- A Meeker man has come up with a way to make checking the mail safer.
Allen Musgrave invented a mailbox with windows mounted on two sides, allowing owners to see inside.
He says he got the idea after seeing television reports of mailboxes being blown up.
Nicoma Park Police Chief Hugh Gilbert has one of the mailboxes.
He used to worry about pranks because he was a police officer, but says the invention makes him feel more secure.
Musgrave has spent the last year working on the product and establishing his business, Safe Sight.
Musgrave says he hopes to expand the business this year and start selling the mailboxes and installation kits worldwide through his Web site at www.safe-sight.com.
