(Supreme Court-AP) -- A US Supreme Court ruling Thursday on a Texas case could have an impact on Oklahoma law.
The justices voted 6-to-3 to strike down a Texas law against gay sex as an unconstitutional invasion of privacy.
Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri have a similar law prohibiting oral and anal sex between same-sex couples. Nine other states prohibit sodomy for everyone.
In writing for the majority -- Justice Anthony Kennedy says the law ``demeans the lives of homosexual persons.''
Texas argued the state has an interest in promoting the institutions of marriage and family -- and communities have the right to choose their own standards.
