A man convicted in the Tulsa Community College grade tampering case has pleaded guilty to another federal charge.
On Monday Tarig al-Taweel had opted for a jury trial, which was supposed to begin Thursday. But late Wednesday he went ahead and pleaded guilty. The charge involved a threatening letter prosecutors say he sent from jail last year.
Al-Taweel has already been convicted and sentenced to 16 years in prison for arranging to change grades for Middle Eastern students at Tulsa Community College's Northeast Campus.
