Before you hook up your boat to your trailer and are lake bound, there is something you need to know. There's a longer wait for boat tags this summer.

The state usually issues the decals to tag agents in May, but the stickers aren't ready yet. They should be in by the end of the month. And the good news is, July is a "grace" month for boat decals, so you won't be ticketed for not having one.

Best advice; call your tag agent before you head out to see if they have gotten the tags yet.
