(Bentonville-AP) -- A sailor who was supposed to be at sea with his ship was arrested in Bentonville after going absent without leave since February.
22-year-old Jarod Loveall was arrested Tuesday morning. Police had received a call from a Navy investigator looking for Loveall, who thought he may be at his father's home in town.
Police visited the father, Danny Loveall and found the sailor there. He was arrested on a warrant for military desertion.
According to Petty Officer Derrick Love, who works in the Navy's southwest region office of information in Dallas, Loveall will be sent back to his ship, where he will face a Captains Mast.
He could face a variety of punishments, including:
being referred to a court-martial
being restricted to the ship for a maximum of 60 days
reduced pay
docked a rank
