The Oklahoma Aquarium is expected to attract half a million people each year. Businesses in the area are ready. It could mean an $18-million economic impact on the area.
Many folks look forward to big crowds coming to the attraction, and visiting their business while they're here. Jim Copeland, Jenks business owner, "The aquarium is exactly for everyone in town here, all of Tulsa and Jenks should be excited. I know there are a lot of skeptical people with this aquarium. I happen to be not one of them."
There are also plans for a new 85-room hotel at the Aquarium complex. Ground will be broken in July with an opening scheduled for next summer.
