Some crimes just seem extra mean, like breaking into a couple's home and stealing nearly everything while the woman was at the hospital in labor.

But according to News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright, that's exactly what happened Tuesday in Wagoner County.

Lorey Hill-Perrier was in labor and delivery, having contractions when she got a phone call. "As I'm on the phone with her, I hear, omigosh, the big screen is gone and that's all I heard." That wasn't all that was missing; the burglars had actually unplugged and unscrewed cables to take all the electronic equipment in the house. They ransacked the home and even took the video camera that had been charging, for when the baby was born and other things that were special.

"They took my mother's day present and I hadn't even gotten to wear it. It was a ring, but, my fingers have been too swollen and they CD they made me was in the CD player they stole. Just little things that matter because the kids picked them out."

Lorey didn't have the baby, but the stress of being broken into, certainly didn't help. Steven Perrier: "My motorcycle was sitting right here and my riding lawn mower was sitting right here."

Steven's already sending pictures of his bike to shops all over Green Country, but chances of getting any of this stuff back are slim. And it wasn't like this family hadn't done everything to protect itself, all the doors and windows were locked, they had dogs outside and they had an alarm system and it was on. Worse than the items taken, was the sense of security the burglars stole from this family.

Steven: "I didn't sleep much last night. I had a gun by my bed and one in my closet and gave her a quick lesson in using the shotgun and said if you had to, use it."

The Perriers saw a white truck outside their house Sunday morning that seemed out of place. They now suspect the people in that truck was casing their home. They encourage others to trust your instincts and call police when something or someone seems suspicious.
