New figures from the state of Oklahoma show just how hard the state budget crunch is hitting education.
For the current school year, Oklahoma school districts reported more than 1,300 jobs were cut. And nearly 2,100 teachers have been told they won't be rehired next year. On top of that, 1,800 positions left open by attrition won’t be filled.
Also this week, 17 districts reported they might not be able to pay all the bills by the end of the school year.
