Bob Stoops will coach West team for next year's East-West Shrine game

(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma's Bob Stoops has been named head coach of the West team for next year's East-West Shrine Game.

The game will be held January 10th at Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco.

This will be the second all-star game head coaching post for Stoops. He also coached at the 2001 Hula Bowl.

Former OU coaches Gomer Jones, Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer all coached in the Shrine game during their careers. But none of them served as head coach.
