Traffic accident on US highway 169 snarls traffic Tuesday morning

Three people were taken to the hospital after a major pile-up during rush hour traffic Tuesday morning. <br><br>Cars involved were in both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 169 near 11th Street.

Three people were taken to the hospital after a major pile-up during rush hour traffic Tuesday morning.

Cars involved were in both the north and southbound lanes of Highway 169 near 11th Street. Officers say the blue Mercury apparently cut off a dump truck, causing it to lose control.

The truck hit the center median, and then slammed into the back of the Mercury, causing a chain reaction on both sides of the highway. Seven cars in all were involved.

Three people were taken to the hospital. Their names and conditions have not been released.
