An Oklahoma City elementary school is closed after police found a man cooking what is believed to be meth nearby.

Officers were sent to the area after a strong chemical odor was reported near Hawthorne Elementary. They say they found a man cooking what is suspected to be meth in the back yard of a home a few blocks away.

When Oklahoma City Police spotted him, the suspect kicked over what he was cooking and ran inside. He has since been arrested.
