Despite the destruction around them, churches in Oklahoma City held Mother's Day services anyway.
The First Christian Church in Moore held its service in the parking lot without pews or hymnbooks. Church members say their spirits aren't dampened. In fact, they believe this will make them stronger. Yvonne Latta, church member: "I know God does everything for a reason, the purpose may be to draw us closer together and make people have more faith."
Another church member, Melvin Sexton, "the church is actually, the people and this is just a building and it's not God's will, it's what happens, our strength will be in rebuilding."
Church officials say they will rebuild - probably in the same spot. The First Presbyterian Church near there was also hit by the tornado and also held services outdoors.
