(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma associated athletic director and senior women's administrator Marita Hynes is retiring.

Hynes will retire July 1st after 28 years at OU.

Hynes began her career at OU in 1976 as softball and field hockey coach.

She became coordinator of promotions in 1984 and was named associate AD in 1995.

She served as project director over the OU softball complex, and as tournament director of the NCAA Women's College World Series the past 12 years.
